“He just has to leave come January. From his recent performances, it is obvious that he doesn’t have what I need from a player in his position. Good luck to him on future endeavors” – Manchester United’s underperforming star is set to face embarrassment, as new manager Ruben Amorim reportedly has plans to move him out of the club. This decision comes shortly after the player’s recent remarks, which now appear awkward given Amorim’s alleged intent to sell.

Ruben Amorim might put one of his new Manchester United players in an uncomfortable position during the early months of his tenure.

Joshua Zirkzee’s excitement about joining Manchester United could soon backfire if predictions from football icon Ian Wright, alongside reports from Italy, come true.

The Dutch striker, who transferred from Bologna for a significant £36.5 million fee, became the first signing of the Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS era this summer. Yet, he has struggled at United, scoring just once in 16 appearances under recently departed manager Erik ten Hag, with the team’s inconsistent offense contributing to Ten Hag’s exit.

Rumors circulated that Zirkzee’s signing was driven more by United’s leadership than Ten Hag’s preference. Now, despite initial high expectations, he faces the challenge of winning over new manager Ruben Amorim. Reports from Calciomercato suggest that Amorim isn’t entirely convinced by the 23-year-old striker and could approve a transfer for him in January.

Upon joining United with a contract until 2029, Zirkzee expressed confidence, saying, “I have a lot of trust and a good feeling about this step…Manchester United just gave me a very, very good feeling, and [I am] very confident what’s planned will also happen.” However, Wright suggests Zirkzee may find it difficult to thrive at United, potentially making his early comments seem optimistic.

Wright believes the initial excitement surrounding Zirkzee’s arrival has faded, remarking on his podcast, *Wrighty’s House*, “I can’t see Zirkzee making it based on what I’ve seen so far…Hojlund looks like a future talent, but I don’t see the same with Zirkzee.” He added that while players like Hojlund seem ready to adapt and improve, Zirkzee’s movement and style haven’t shown promise.

If Wright’s view holds and Zirkzee continues to struggle, he may regret leaving his starting role at Champions League side Bologna. United have stated that Zirkzee needed time to adjust to the fast pace of English football, but Amorim’s preference for a quick, aggressive front line may not align with Zirkzee’s style, possibly challenging his place at Old Trafford.
