CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Love, legacy, and loyalty were the themes of the day as North Carolina head basketball coach Hubert Davis and his wife Leslie Davis celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary — a remarkable milestone filled with devotion, faith, and enduring partnership.

 

The couple, known for their quiet strength and unwavering bond, marked the special occasion with heartfelt tributes to one another. “I will grow older with you. Together forever, stronger than ever. Happy 26th anniversary, my love!” Hubert Davis posted on social media, accompanied by a throwback wedding photo and a recent snapshot of the couple smiling courtside at a Tar Heels game.

 

Leslie, often seen supporting Hubert from the stands during tense ACC matchups, responded with a loving message of her own: “26 years of laughter, tears, growth, and grace. God truly knew what He was doing when He gave me you. Here’s to forever.”

 

The couple met during their time at UNC in the early 1990s when Hubert was starring on the basketball court. After his NBA career and transition into coaching, they returned to Chapel Hill to build a life rooted in community, faith, and family. Today, they are proud parents and continue to serve as role models both on and off the court.

 

Hubert Davis, who made history as the first African-American head coach in UNC men’s basketball history, often credits Leslie as his rock and source of inspiration. Their anniversary not only celebrates their personal journey, but also the values they’ve instilled in the program — unity, love, and perseverance.
