CLEMSON, S.C. — Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence is giving back to his alma mater in a major way. The former Clemson Tigers star has donated $5.4 million to establish a new Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) fund aimed at supporting Clemson student-athletes.

The initiative, titled the “Tigers United NIL Fund,” is designed to provide financial resources, educational opportunities, and professional development for Clemson athletes across all sports. The donation marks one of the largest personal contributions to an NIL initiative by any professional athlete, placing Lawrence at the forefront of a movement to empower college athletes in the new NIL era.

“This university gave me everything — an education, lifelong friendships, and the platform to live my dream,” Lawrence said in a statement. “I want to make sure Clemson athletes today and in the future have the same chance to succeed, on and off the field.”

Lawrence, who led Clemson to a national championship in 2018 and was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, has remained closely connected with the Clemson community. His latest contribution solidifies his commitment to giving back and growing the opportunities for athletes navigating the evolving landscape of collegiate athletics.

The fund will operate in partnership with Clemson’s athletic department but will remain an independent entity to ensure NCAA compliance. It will provide financial compensation for athletes who participate in promotional activities, community engagement, and brand-building efforts under the NIL framework.

Athletic Director Graham Neff praised Lawrence for his leadership and generosity. “Trevor’s commitment to our student-athletes is inspiring,” Neff said. “His gift will transform lives and ensure that Clemson remains competitive at the highest level.”

The Tigers United NIL Fund is expected to support hundreds of athletes annually and will include mentorship programs, marketing training, and financial literacy education. Lawrence also hinted that this is just the beginning, encouraging other Clemson alumni and fans to support the cause.

“This is about creating lasting change,” Lawrence added. “When we support our athletes, we invest in the future of the university and the legacy we leave behind.”

As NIL continues to reshape college sports, Lawrence’s bold investment could serve as a model for other professional athletes seeking to uplift their alma maters. For Clemson, it’s a game-changing moment — one that puts the Tigers at the forefront of innovation and athlete empowerment.
