Norman, OK — In a remarkable act of generosity and compassion, Oklahoma Sooners softball standout Alyssa Brito has announced a $1 million donation to establish a new shelter dedicated to homeless youth in Oklahoma. The initiative, named “Oklahoma Sooners Youth,” is designed to provide safety, stability, and comprehensive support services to vulnerable young people across the state.
The donation marks one of the most significant charitable contributions ever made by a college athlete, sending shockwaves through the sports and philanthropic communities alike. Brito, known for her leadership both on and off the field, said the idea was born from personal experiences and a deep concern for at-risk youth in Oklahoma.

The “Oklahoma Sooners Youth” shelter will be based in Norman, with plans to expand its reach throughout the state.
