LOCKED IN: Devin Booker Signs Four-Year Extension to Stay with Phoenix Suns Through 2029

PHOENIX, AZ – May 9, 2025 — The Phoenix Suns have officially locked in their franchise star. On Friday, the organization confirmed that it has formally accepted Devin Booker’s four-year contract extension, effectively keeping him in the Valley of the Sun through the 2029 NBA season.

Booker, 28, has spent his entire professional career with the Suns since being drafted 13th overall in 2015. Over the past decade, he has grown into one of the NBA’s most dynamic and consistent scorers, as well as a beloved figure in Phoenix. This new deal reaffirms both his loyalty to the franchise and the franchise’s belief in his long-term leadership.

According to sources close to the negotiation, the extension is valued at approximately $215 million, making it one of the most lucrative contracts in Suns history. The agreement kicks in after his current contract ends in 2025, tying him to the team for the next four seasons through 2029.

“Phoenix is home,” Booker said in a press release. “The fans, the city, this team — it all means everything to me. We’ve built something special here, and I’m not done yet. I’m committed to bringing a championship to this city.”

Booker’s impact on the Suns is undeniable. A four-time All-Star and two-time All-NBA selection, he has averaged 25.6 points, 5.4 assists, and 4.2 rebounds per game over his career. He was instrumental in leading Phoenix to the 2021 NBA Finals and has helped maintain the Suns’ status as a Western Conference powerhouse despite fierce competition.

Suns President of Basketball Operations James Jones praised Booker’s extension as a “clear signal of continuity and championship focus.”

“Devin represents everything we want this franchise to stand for,” Jones said. “He’s competitive, he’s passionate, and he elevates everyone around him. With him locked in, we’re set to keep building toward a title.”

This move also reflects the Suns’ commitment under owner Mat Ishbia, who has made bold decisions since taking over in 2023, including trades for Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal. With Booker now committed long-term, Phoenix has a core it can confidently build around for years.

The extension ensures the Suns remain a major force in the West, and gives Booker the chance to further cement his legacy—not just as a great player, but as a potential all-time Suns legend.

Locked in until 2029. Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns aren’t finished yet.
