Drita will face FCSB (Steaua Bucharest) in the third round of the Europa League.
The controversial FCSB president, Gigi Becali, has made an unusual statement before the match against the Kosovar team Drita in the third round of the Europa League.
He has hinted that a loss to the team from Kosovo would be unacceptable for the Romanian club.
“If Kosovo (Drita), where our next opponent in the Europa League is from, defeats us, let’s leave football behind. I don’t want to do this, but that’s how it has to be. I don’t think we are weaker than them (Drita),” Becali said after FSCB was eliminated by Shkëndija e Tetovës.
We recall that FCSB was previously eliminated by another Albanian team, Shkëndija e Tetovo, which may have increased Becali’s sensitivity towards confrontations with Albanian teams from the region.
The team from Gjilan is in good form and aims to make history by qualifying further for the Europa League, while the elimination of FCSB means that Drita will secure the Conference League groups and will play in the Europa League Play-Offs.
