GRATITUDE: Steelers Approve $2.5 Million Statue Honoring Terry Bradshaw Outside Acrisure Stadium

In a powerful gesture of respect and gratitude, the Pittsburgh Steelers have officially approved a $2.5 million project to erect a statue of Hall of Fame quarterback Terry Bradshaw outside Acrisure Stadium. The tribute, announced early Thursday morning by the organization, celebrates Bradshaw’s unmatched legacy and enduring contributions to the franchise.

Terry Bradshaw, the face of the Steelers’ golden era in the 1970s, led the team to four Super Bowl titles (IX, X, XIII, and XIV), earning two Super Bowl MVP honors along the way. His arm strength, leadership, and championship pedigree played a central role in transforming the Steelers into one of the NFL’s most respected dynasties.

The bronze statue will be placed at the stadium’s Gate A entrance, where fans will be greeted by a life-size representation of Bradshaw in his iconic No. 12 jersey, captured mid-throw—a nod to his fearless, cannon-armed presence on the field. Team president Art Rooney II shared heartfelt remarks at the announcement ceremony.

“Terry Bradshaw is not just a Steeler icon—he’s a symbol of Pittsburgh grit, perseverance, and excellence,” Rooney said. “This statue is our way of saying ‘thank you’ for the years he gave us and the legacy he continues to inspire.”

Bradshaw, now a popular television analyst and entertainer, expressed his deep appreciation during a live video message.

“I’m overwhelmed,” Bradshaw said. “Pittsburgh gave me everything—my career, my family, and lifelong friends. This honor means more than I can ever say.”

The statue is expected to be unveiled before the start of the 2025 NFL season, in time for the team’s first home game. Fans and alumni are expected to gather in droves for the dedication ceremony, marking a historic moment that cements Bradshaw’s status as not just a champion, but a permanent part of Steelers lore.
