LUBBOCK, TX โ€” Texas Tech University has just been crowned the undisputed king of college sports. In a season destined for the record books, the Red Raiders have accomplished what no other school has ever done: winning a national title, reaching the menโ€™s Final Four, advancing to the Womenโ€™s College World Series, hosting a softball regional, and competing in a bowl gameโ€”all in a single academic year.

This historic run defines the 2025 season as the “Year of the Red Raiders,” elevating Texas Tech into a rarefied echelon of collegiate excellence. Lubbock has become the epicenter of college athletics, driven by a culture of tenacity, innovation, and championship DNA.

The men’s basketball team stormed into the Final Four behind a ferocious defense and elite coaching, while the football program capped its rise with a statement bowl victory. On the diamond, Texas Tech Softball hosted and dominated a regional before battling into the WCWS, signaling a new golden age under the national spotlight.

Capping it all off was a national championship in track and field, delivered by a team that shattered records and stunned the competition.

“This isn’t just successโ€”itโ€™s a legacy,” said Texas Tech Athletic Director Kirby Hocutt. โ€œWhat our student-athletes and coaches achieved this year is unprecedented. The culture weโ€™ve built is winning at the highest level, across every sport.โ€

From the roaring crowd at United Supermarkets Arena to the electric energy at Jones AT&T Stadium, Red Raider pride has never burned brighter.

In a collegiate sports world defined by parity and NIL chaos, Texas Tech has emerged as a beacon of balance, unity, and dominance.

The message is clear: The 2025 sports era belongs to Lubbock.
