Let’s Ride Like the Legacy We Built: Brian Bosworth Donates 3 Luxurious Buses to the Oklahoma Sooners for Easy Travel
NORMAN, Okla. — June 11, 2025 — In a gesture that blends tradition, legacy, and luxury, former Oklahoma Sooners football legend Brian Bosworth has donated three state-of-the-art buses to his alma mater’s athletic department, ensuring the team travels in style and comfort for years to come.
Dubbed the “Legacy Fleet,” the buses are a nod to the rich history of OU football and Bosworth’s own legendary status. Each custom-designed bus bears the message: “Let’s Ride Like the Legacy We Built.” With this donation, Bosworth—one of the most iconic figures in college football history—has reaffirmed his enduring commitment to the program that shaped his career.
“Being a Sooner means being part of a brotherhood that never ends,” Bosworth said during the unveiling ceremony on campus Wednesday. “This isn’t just about transportation. It’s about honoring our past, empowering our present, and investing in our future. These buses are built for champions—because that’s what this program is.”
The luxury motorcoaches, estimated to be worth over $2 million collectively, are equipped with the latest amenities. Features include leather reclining seats, full Wi-Fi access, entertainment systems with 60-inch HD displays, charging ports at every seat, custom lighting, and Sooners-themed interiors. The exterior design pays tribute to Oklahoma’s championship history, including graphics celebrating past Heisman winners, national titles, and legendary coaches.
Athletic Director Joe Castiglione praised Bosworth’s donation as “a game-changer.”
“This is more than generous—it’s transformational,” Castiglione said. “Brian’s spirit and pride in being a Sooner are unmatched, and this gift reflects that. It’s a morale boost and a logistical upgrade. These buses will serve all our athletes—not just football—for years to come.”
Head football coach Brent Venables echoed the sentiment, adding that the new buses symbolize a connection between past and present. “When our players ride on these buses, they’ll be reminded of who came before them and what it means to wear the crimson and cream. It’s legacy in motion.”
Bosworth, nicknamed “The Boz,” was a two-time All-American linebacker at Oklahoma in the 1980s and remains one of the most colorful and impactful figures in program history. While known for his flamboyance, this latest act speaks volumes about his loyalty.
As the 2025 season approaches, the Sooners are set to hit the road in a fashion befitting champions—thanks to one of their own.
Let’s ride, indeed.
