Texas Tech Red Raiders Share “10/10 Afternoon” at Jones AT&T Stadium
May 18, 2025 – Lubbock, TX
The Texas Tech Red Raiders lit up social media on Saturday with a post that captured the spirit and energy surrounding the program this spring. The official X (formerly Twitter) account for Texas Tech Football shared a series of photos and a message reading, “10/10 afternoon at Jones AT&T Stadium.” The post quickly gained traction among fans and recruits, highlighting the growing buzz around Red Raider football heading into the 2025 season.
The photos showcased a sun-drenched Jones AT&T Stadium filled with smiles, autographs, and high-energy drills during an open practice and fan engagement event. Players mingled with fans, signed posters and footballs, and took part in interactive games with younger Red Raider faithful. The event gave the Lubbock community an up-close look at the team’s offseason progress—and served as a reminder that Texas Tech is building something special under head coach Joey McGuire.
“This is what Texas Tech football is all about,” McGuire said during the event. “Family, connection, hard work, and fun. We want this to be a place where our fans feel a part of everything we do.”
The fan day came on the heels of a strong spring practice season that has coaches and fans optimistic. Quarterback Behren Morton looked sharp during live reps, connecting often with a talented receiving corps that includes Jerand Bradley and Drae McCray. The offensive line, anchored by veteran returners, showed improved cohesion and physicality—two key areas of focus entering fall camp.
On defense, the Red Raiders showcased their speed and depth. Linebacker Jesiah Pierre and safety Dadrion Taylor-Demerson each drew praise for their leadership and big-play ability. Newcomers from the transfer portal also made an impact, particularly on the defensive front, giving the unit added versatility and strength.
Beyond the football, the event at Jones AT&T Stadium emphasized the culture shift McGuire continues to build in Lubbock. Music blared from speakers, food trucks lined the parking lots, and the player-led atmosphere reflected a team that is enjoying the journey while staying focused on results.
Recruiting also benefited from the exposure. Several high school prospects were in attendance, touring facilities and interacting with coaches. For many, it was their first taste of Red Raider football in person—and the energy left a strong impression.
“I’ve been to a lot of campuses, but this one feels different,” said a 2026 four-star wide receiver from Dallas. “The coaches are real, the fans are crazy passionate, and you can tell the players love being here.”
With a challenging schedule ahead and rising expectations, the Red Raiders are focused but hungry. Social media moments like Saturday’s “10/10 afternoon” show a program that isn’t just building wins—it’s building a family.
As the countdown to kickoff continues, one thing is clear: the vibe in Lubbock is real, and the Red Raiders are ready to make noise in the Big 12.
