Indianapolis, United States – Caitlin Clark’s Statue to Be Unveiled at Gainbridge Fieldhouse

In a momentous celebration of a groundbreaking basketball career, a statue honoring Caitlin Clark, one of the most electrifying players in the history of women’s basketball, is set to be unveiled at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in downtown Indianapolis. The unveiling marks a significant milestone in the career of the Indiana Fever star and pays tribute to her historic impact on the game, both on and off the court.

The statue, the first ever dedicated to a player in the Indiana Fever’s history, will stand proudly outside the Fieldhouse, a permanent reminder of Clark’s contributions to the sport and her iconic status in the Hoosier State. The ceremony, scheduled for this weekend, is expected to draw fans from across the country, along with basketball legends, dignitaries, and Clark’s family and teammates.

Clark, who rose to national prominence during her record-breaking college career at the University of Iowa, has quickly become a household name in the WNBA. Drafted No. 1 overall by the Indiana Fever, she has revitalized the franchise with her dazzling playmaking, deep three-point range, and fierce competitiveness. Since joining the Fever, she has consistently filled arenas, led the league in jersey sales, and inspired a new generation of young athletes.

Team officials say the statue was commissioned not only to recognize her on-court excellence but also her leadership and positive influence in growing the women’s game. “Caitlin Clark has changed the trajectory of women’s basketball,” said Fever President Allison Barber. “Her presence has elevated our team, energized our fanbase, and brought unprecedented visibility to the league.”

Designed by renowned sculptor Brian Hanlon, the statue captures Clark in one of her signature moments — mid-dribble, eyes up, ready to either shoot from long range or deliver a no-look assist. Hanlon, who has created statues of sports legends across the country, called Clark’s likeness “a tribute to fearless excellence and the future of women’s sports.”

For Clark, the honor is humbling. “To have a statue in a city that’s embraced me so completely is surreal,” she said in a statement. “I’m just grateful to be part of this incredible journey and to represent something bigger than myself.”

As anticipation builds for the unveiling, fans are already gathering near Gainbridge Fieldhouse to catch a glimpse of the historic tribute. With the statue, Caitlin Clark joins the pantheon of sporting legends in Indiana — not just as a great player, but as a transformative figure whose legacy will endure for generations.
