Super Bowl MVP and Hall of Fame Missouri Tigers Legends Give Back to Their Alma Mater, Creating Lasting Opportunities for Future Generations

In a monumental gesture of gratitude and support, Missouri Tigers football legends Jeremy Maclin and Chase Coffman have announced a multi-million dollar endowment aimed at bolstering the future of the Tigers football program. According to an ESPN report released Friday, the two former stars — both enshrined in the Missouri Athletics Hall of Fame — are coming together to create a legacy fund that will provide lasting resources and opportunities for players and staff at their alma mater.

Maclin, a Super Bowl MVP and one of the most electrifying receivers in Missouri history, and Coffman, a record-setting tight end and fan favorite, have remained deeply connected to the Missouri community since their collegiate playing days. Their joint commitment reportedly totals over $5 million, marking one of the largest athlete-driven donations in school history.

“We owe so much of who we are today to the University of Missouri,” Maclin said during a press conference at Faurot Field. “This program gave us a platform, it gave us brothers, and it taught us lessons that went far beyond the game. Chase and I both felt it was time to give back in a way that ensures future Tigers have even more opportunities than we did.”

The Maclin-Coffman Endowment will focus on several key areas: academic support for student-athletes, facility upgrades, enhanced nutrition and wellness programs, and the creation of leadership development initiatives. University officials emphasized that the funds will help keep Missouri competitive within the ever-evolving landscape of college athletics.

“Jeremy and Chase have not only represented Mizzou with excellence on the field, but they’ve also shown what it means to be leaders off the field,” said Athletic Director Desireé Reed-Francois. “Their incredible generosity will have a transformational impact on our program for decades to come.”

Both Maclin and Coffman enjoyed stellar collegiate careers at Missouri, helping lead the Tigers to national prominence in the late 2000s. Maclin went on to a successful NFL career highlighted by a Super Bowl MVP performance, while Coffman carved out a respected NFL journey after winning the John Mackey Award as the nation’s top tight end.

In addition to the endowment, plans are underway for a new “Maclin and Coffman Leadership Center” at the Tigers’ training facilities, designed to help student-athletes succeed both during and after their playing careers.

“This is about investing in people,” Coffman said. “It’s about building something that lasts far beyond any season or scoreboard. We love Mizzou, and we believe in its future.”

University leaders say they plan to unveil more details about the initiative during the upcoming football season.
